Misdemeanor

Misdemeanor charges range from class 3, which is the lowest, to A1 which is the most severe. Misdemeanor sentencing is based upon levels, prior convictions will raise your level. In certain situations, 1st offenders may be eligible for deferral programs that will lead to an ultimate dismissal.

Felony

Felony charges range from class I, which is the lowest, to class A which is the most severe. Felony sentencing is based upon prior convictions, meaning the more convictions the harsher the punishment. Most felonies will begin at the district court level, and once indicted are transferred to superior court.
